Google recently rolled out a new feature called Google Play Protect as a built-in malware protection for all Android devices. This is a real-time malware scanner that will scan every you install or installed apps on your Android phone. Google has started rolling out Play Protect service internationally to all Android devices running Google Play Services 11 or later.
How to Enable Google Play Protect on Android
The Play Protect service is enabled by default on your device running on Google Play Services version 11 and above. The Play Protect option is located under Settings » Google » Security » Google Play Protect (Verify Apps) for the device running on Android Marshmallow and below.
How to Disable Google Play Protect on Android
1. Go to Settings and tap on Security under Google Settings.
2. Tap on Google Play Protect (Verify Apps).
3. Turn “Scan device for security threats” ON (or) OFF in order to Enable or Disable Play Protect.
